03: One Week in
You want to know a fun tidbit about this world, that has yet to be fully explored in practice? That was rhetorical, you cant even answer. Anyways, it’s the passing of time, and how it can measured. One of the many things to keep track of when having your own universe, is the differences in how each place moves, one planet might have a shorter year but a longer day than another, some moons might might not even use days as a measurement at all! to complicate things further, the Eirimov Universe, decided by me some time ago, does not use weeks like we do, but instead what they call, a pass.
A pass is a group of nine days, as their weeks are based on lunar cycles, with a focus on the moon Nere. Most of the modern universe uses the Fernaean Calendar, nine days a pass, forty-six days a month, and five months per year. As complicated as this system might seem to those of us who have the Gregorian calendar distilled into our bones, I actually built their system to be digestible and no so dissimilar from our own that it was to difficult to read or write.
This is a small post, just to pop my head in and say that progress is being made. I have several beta readers on Flowers in Juyn, and I am making decent headway of book one of Valamour Volitions.
